Futura and Franklin Gothic
Both are san serifs. Franklin Gothic is bolder. There is also a variation of modulation in Franklin Gothic as well. Futura has roundish characteristics while Franklin Gothic is more boxy. Futura's lower case g doesn't have an ear unlike Franklin Gothic's lower case g. The tails in the upper case Q's on both Franklin Gothic and Futura are different in that Franklin Gothic's Q's tail extends from the outer edge while the Q in Futura goes all the way through the stroke.
Fraktur and Snell
Fraktur is a black letter that needs to be shot and killed and never used. Snell is a script. Both have ornaments. The set width of Fraktur is bigger than that of Snell. Snell has a consistent modulation. Fraktur has a variety in modulation with the ornaments and connecting parts of the letter. The cap height of Snell is greater than that of Fraktur.
